Wilson’s Trophies Biography

Wilson’s Trophies was established in 1987.

I started the business as a favor for a club I was involved with that was in need of some awards. The place they had been purchasing from had gone out of business and one of the members of the club had been making the trophies for them and decided he did not want to anymore.

So I bought the small amount of inventory he had and... my journey started!

I was working two other jobs at the time and raising two children.

Then opportunity came knocking again when another shop decided to close their doors. I purchased their inventory and along with that came a few more customers. It was then that I decided it was time to open a shop.

Wilson’s Trophies started out in a little office space on Railroad Avenue and after a year or so moved to 23 Pohaku Street where it was home for almost 30 years!

Shortly after moving to Pohaku Street another shop closed down and I purchased their goods and on top of trophy awards I now had the capability of doing signage and rubberstamps.

In the last couple of years we have added laser engraving and fabrications as one of the many services and merchandise we offer. In October of 2017, Wilson’s Trophies, now known as Wilson’s Trophies Creations Plus has opened in a new location, 17 Makaala Street, with more space, merchandise, services and more opportunities to serve our community here on the Big Island as well as the rest of the State of Hawaii.

It ‘s been a long and rocky road, and many a time I have sat here thinking that maybe I’ve had enough. But I can honestly say that I love what I do, and helping to honor people and organizations is such a rewarding feeling. Hopefully I will continue on this path for a long while to come!

I want to thank my many customers that have faith in what I do and provide for them, many of which has turned into friendships... I Thank you!
